Spring, Year 760 of the New Age
Silverthorne, The Silver Vale

It felt like it would never end, that endless blanket of white. The winter had been swept up and nearly forgotten, jealous of the fresh stalks of grass and budding trees. Leaves unfurled, the land dotted by does with their newborn fawns, huddled together closely as if winter might come back with a bitter chill. The buckskin doe was not interested in seeing winter coming back, but the times it held were dear to her. Meeting new friends and family alike, she wouldn’t part for them, regardless of the hardships the season came with. How could she? A broad smile laid on her dark muzzle, legs feeling like stumps from her swollen belly. It would be soon, it had to be.

She loved feeling the kicks and gentle movement, but lately that internal struggle had woken her up and moving late nights. Casilda was always in sight, even if the pain made Shilo snippy, the older doe was kind if not a bit firm. Shilo could see where Noctis got it from, especially his caring side when it came down to it. The old doe was warm towards her, Shilo having no trouble keeping close to her as the days grew longer. She’d pull away when the chance came around, always looking for that golden stag that had gotten her so far away from home. It wasn’t a painful memory, that was one thing Shilo had never held onto. Hard memories or foul moments in her life, as soon as she knew she’d be giving birth she discarded all that held her back and focused solely on the future.

And the future laid with Noctis and her unborn fawn, who let her know just how soon that future should start. The doe folded her ears back, the insistent kicking within her set her in motion from her comfortable grazing. Dark legs ghosting through the long grass, her deep brown eyes held forward as she gave the fastest waddle she could towards a space that was more beaten down. Her mind was set on getting away from the crowd of does and fawns, the pain from the sharp kicks seeming to ease. She let out a heavy breath through her nose, settling herself carefully into the cool grass. Shilo hummed in content, ears folding back as she curled her tail against her swollen belly. She was always nervous of being rolled over, the thought caused her to smile broadly. She was a large turtle, the thought of being turned over and flailing dramatically to right herself more than amusing.

With a gentle sigh in the soft spring air, she bides her time.
I had this done for far too long, and I never posted it. I couldn't decide if it should be the birth, or a leading up to it. This should have happened two years ago, I had it done, but Docs gets wild and then things get lost when I don't use them often lol. I'm sure I've got past rps stashed somewhere, I'll see if I can fish them out. ^^
